Heirloom (Erbst\u00fcck) Kakao-Sorten sind die Diamanten des Kakaos und rar. Kakaob\u00e4ume und Bohnen, ausgestattet mit einer Kombination aus historischem, kulturellem, botanischem, geographischem und vor allem geschmacklichem Wert (www.hcpcacao.org). Der wildgewachsende Kakao Wild Ben\u00ed stammt von der Hacienda Tranquilidad aus dem bolivianischen Itenez-Flu\u00dfbecken im Amazonas Delta. Dieser Kakao ist bekannt als Beniano, genetisch einzigartig und nirgendwo sonst auf der Welt zu finden. In dieser Gegend tauchen h\u00e4ufiger bewaldete Erhebungen auf, die wenige Meter aus der Ebene herausragen. Die Einheimischen nennen diese Waldinseln Chocolatales. La Tranquilidad, die Ruhe oder Gelassenheit, hei\u00dft einer dieser Chocolatales. Der ehemalige deutsche Entwicklungsexperte Volker Lehmann, in Santa Cruz ans\u00e4ssig, hat ihn 2001 erstanden und ein Zentrum f\u00fcr die Erforschung des Wildkakaos eingerichtet. Die Finca mit 500 Hektaren Naturwald und 80 Hektaren ertragsarmer Naturweide sowie 40 Hektaren Naturschutzgebiet ist im Vergleich zu den benachbarten riesigen Rinderfarmen mit Tausenden von Hektaren ein mittlerer Farmbetrieb, der zwei einheimischen Familien dauerhaft Arbeit gibt. Eine Reihe von Chocolatales ist f\u00fcr Weideland gerodet worden, was den seltenen Urkakao in manchen Gegenden bereits zum Verschwinden gebracht hat. In Tranquilidad wurde deshalb ein Projekt zur Erhaltung der Chocolatales initiiert.
