Maker
Cacao Prieto was founded by Daniel Prieto Preston, an aerospace inventor and engineer, whose family has grown organic cocoa in the Dominican Republic for over 100 years. The Prieto family owns Coralina Farms which supplies all the cocoa for Prieto cocoa chocolate and liqueurs. Coralina Farms is also the center for long-range experiments in the field of organic and self-sustainable agriculture. Cacao Prieto products come from organic cocoa beans from Coralina and organic sugar farms in the Dominican Republic, for this reason, Cacao Prieto is today one of the very few companies in the world to control the production process from the farm to the finished product. Cacao Prieto in his laboratory located at 218 Conover Street, in the district of Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY, produces a line of fine chocolate bars with different varieties of percentages and types of cocoa and a line of chocolates with wonderful flavors. Cacao Prieto also produces a variety of rum and cocoa-based liqueurs whose unique flavors derive from the fermentation process of the cocoa itself.
