Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé

Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé is a bean to bar chocolate maker from Hungary. In Hungarian Rózsavölgyi means “from the valley of roses”. Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé was founded in 2004 by Zsolt Szabad and Katalin Csiszar (husband and wife). The factory is located in an old mill in Soroksar, a southern suburb of Budapest. Rózsavölgyi interprets chocolate as an art form. Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé is a “bean to bar” producer. Rózsavölgyi uses traditional processes and pure ingredients to obtain more natural flavors. He uses cocoa beans for his chocolate, which he buys directly from two growers: Cacao San Jose (the Franceschi family) in Venezuela and Bertil Akesson in Madagascar. The wonderful Rózsavölgyi chocolate packaging is thanks to Katalin Csiszar (graduate in Graphic Design and Animation). The beautiful tablets are shaped in a way that reminds us of the typical Hungarian fireplace tiles. Rózsavölgyi performs a very light roasting in order to emphasize the natural character of the cocoa beans.
