Ces fèves proviennent de Kaithapara, village dans l’Idukki, dans le Kerala au Sud de l’Inde. La région est célèbre pour ses épices. Après l’indépendance de l’Inde, différentes variétés de cacao, principalement de type Forastero ont été implantées. Récolté au cœur de la forêt de Velloor, ce cacao de Kaithapara est un véritable trésor indien.
