Pierre-Yves Comte a choisi ce cacao cultivé par la famille Cornejo Zambrano dans le village de Barraganete, canton de Pichincha, province de Manabi. Il s’agit d’une production agricole familiale diversifiée qui comprend différentes espèces d’arbres fruitiers (arbre à pain, oranger, citronnier, caféier). Ce cacao est issu des variétés Nacional et Trinitarion. L’âge moyen des arbres est de 80 ans, ce qui est très vieux pour un cacaoyer !
