Guatemala ist der bevölkerungsreichste Staat in Zentralamerika und liegt im Süden der Halbinsel Yucatán. Der Staat grenzt im Südosten an Honduras, im Süden an El Salvador, im Norden an Mexiko und im Osten an Belize. Die Kooperative „Comité de Cacao de la Sierra de las Minas“ wurde 2018 gegründet und ist ein Zusammenschluss von über 400 Kakaobauernfamilien entlang des Flusses Rio Polochic.

Seit 2021 ist Georgia Ramon Teil der Genossenschaft DeLaSelva, um noch enger mit den Kakaobauern zusammenzuarbeiten.
