Com o declínio do Ciclo da Borracha no Brasil, ocorrido no início da década de 90, a coleta do cacau surgiu como uma alternativa de sobrevivência para 50 famílias da Associação Amopecema, que habitavam os seringais Amapá, Santa Ana, Tabatinga e Canamari, dentro da reserva extrativista Choco Mendes, no município de Sena Madureira, Estado do Acre. O cacau é colhido ao longo do Rio Iaco onde, com ajuda do ICMBio e da ONG SOS Amazônia, foram construídos dois núcleos de beneficiamento e fornecida qualificação e assessoria técnica para seu manejo. Além do cacau, essas famílias vivem do cultivo do feijão de praia, do tabaco, da banana e da produção de farinha, além da criação de galinha, porcos e da pecuária. A extração do cacau tem um importante papel na manutenção da Floresta em pé, na medida em que se apresenta como uma alternativa de sobrevivência que contribuiu para a preservação do bioma florestal.
A embalagem vem com duas barras de 40g cada embaladas separadamente, totalizando 80g de chocolate. Assim você não precisa abrir seu chocolate todo de uma vez e pode consumir ele com a qualidade 100% em outro momento!
