Amano chocolate got its start finding some of the most amazing beans around the world and bringing out their natural flavors. Now with the same care and passion we brought to single origin chocolate we are offering amazing chocolate bars with added natural flavors. As with our single origin bars our focus is to be as true to the ingredients as possible.
Several years ago we sold special international award winning truffles. One of our favorites was a truffle with a ganache made of our Dos Rios chocolate with pepper and cardamom. This is our version of that truffle in a chocolate bar. Even before it was widely available it was already winning awards around the world, including silver at the 2015 American round of the International Chocolate Awards.
With our Cardamom Black Pepper bar you will you will encounter not just the famous flavors of our Dos Rios dark chocolate made with beans from the Dominican Republic. You’ll also find the finest single estate black pepper with ground cardamom. Small bits of sugar crystals give a satisfying crunch in your mouth.

The Chocolate Maker’s Notes:
Before starting Amano, I experimented with an incredible number of flavor combinations. Chocolate with cardamom and black pepper was one of my favorite discoveries. This bar uses our award winning Dos Rios chocolate made from unusually flavorful cacao beans out of the Dominican Republic. Those beans have natural bergamot orange and lavender flavors to them. Blend and grind those beans with the finest cardamom and black pepper and the resulting flavor combination is electrifying. I’ve added crunchy bits to make it even more addictive.
My first successful chocolate bars that I gave away as Christmas presents including a cardamom and black pepper bar. It was because of those bars that made the recipients of those gifts convince me to start Amano Chocolate. You might say that with our Cardamom Black Pepper bar we have come full circle back to the origins of Amano Chocolate.

Rich dark Dos Rios chocolate with bergamot orange, blueberry and lavender notes made out of Dominican Republic cacao beans. The magical flavor of cardamom with the slight warmth of black pepper. Crunch bits make it extra electrifying.

Amano is a bean to bar chocolate maker from United States (Orem, Utha). Amano was founded in 2006 by Clark Goble and Art Pollard. Amano was born with the idea of combining American and European chocolate production styles. In Amano chocolate you will find all the aromatic notes typical of lightly roasted cocoa in the manner of the United States' producers, with the soft silkiness of the cocoa butter typical of the most refined European chocolatiers. To produce its chocolate, Amano uses traditional techniques and uses the best aromatic cocoa in the world purchased directly from the growers. The Amano technicians directly control the fermentation and drying phases on the plantation.
